Robert Sheahan Obituary

Robert Francis Sheahan, II (“Bobby” by those who grew up with him) passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on April 1, 2024, with his loving wife Linda by his side. Bob was born in Memphis, TN, on August 18, 1960, to the late Robert R. and Anne Lilly Sheahan.

Born the youngest of four children into a military family, he spent much of his early life moving around the southeastern United States. The family settled in Fairfax, VA, in 1967, and Bob participated on the neighborhood swim team, youth football, bowling league, Boy Scouts, and general mischief. He was a 1978 graduate of Havelock High School in Havelock, NC. He later attended George Mason University in Fairfax, VA.

In the early 80s, Bob started his long career in Information Technology (IT) services with Electronic Data Systems (EDS). In 1987, he married Linda Donath and together they raised two daughters, Ally and Tyler, in the McLean, VA where he spent many years coaching both daughters on their respective soccer teams. Bob had other positions in the Washington, DC, area in IT before starting his own company, Pathfinders, in 1999, which assisted clients in obtaining government IT contracts. The later decades of his career were spent as a partner at Systems Made Simple before ultimately retiring from IT services in 2012 after moving to Myrtle Beach, SC. Those who knew him knew he couldn’t stay retired, and he spent his remaining years in Myrtle Beach pursuing multiple business and philanthropic endeavors. Bob and Linda created a huge circle of friends from all over the world. He cherished those connections, and enjoyed entertaining, traveling, boating with his grandchildren, playing golf, trying to keep up with Linda and her Harley, and just hanging out at home with Linda and their two dogs, Lucca and Finn. He will be deeply missed by many.

Bob is survived by his beloved wife, Linda; his daughters, Ally (Ben) Roberts and Tyler Sheahan (Greg); his grandchildren, Bryson, Mason, and Grayson Roberts; his “third daughter” Meaghan Nolan; his sister and brother, Marianne Sheahan and Daniel Sheahan (Bridget); his nieces Keara Mooberry (Jake) and Molly Sheahan; and his nephew Sam Sheahan (Shea). He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Anne Sheahan, his brother David Sheahan, and his infant twin brother Theodore John Michael Sheahan.

Funeral service will be held at 3:45PM Saturday, April 13th, 2024 in the chapel at McMillan-Small Funeral Home in Myrtle Beach. Visitation will be held from 2:00pm-3:45pm prior to the service.
