Jane Laber Criner, of Myrtle Beach, SC, 94, passed away April 4, 2024 at Grand Strand Medical Center. She graduated from Norwin High School in 1947 and Mercy School of Nursing, Pittsburgh, PA, in1950. She worked as an RN at Pittsburgh’s Mercy Hospital for a short term, followed by employment as an industrial nurse at Westinghouse Mica Plant, Irwin, PA and later at Elliot Company, Jeannette, PA. She was a volunteer of Rescue 8 North Huntingdon, PA. She was widowed by first husband Andrew Sloan and by her second husband Maurice Criner. She was predeceased by her parents, Edward and Anna Laber and her two brothers Glenn and Fred Laber. She is survived by her siblings Jody Roscosky and Chuck Laber (Janet) and many loving nieces and nephews. She was the hub of the family. She loved crocheting and knitting items for the “Busy Hands”, watching Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers and Atlanta Braves. Memorial donations can be made to Linda Briggs (Busy Hands), 211 Charles Avenue, Irwin, Pa 15642. There will be no visitation. Interment will take place after a date that has been determined at Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery, Irwin, PA.
